After living in Western countries for ten years, painting has become an essential way for me to express my emotions, particularly during times of loneliness and homesickness. While I don’t miss the routines of daily life in China, I deeply yearn for the beauty of its culture. Through my art, I engage with the past, reconnecting with the essence of old China—its gardens, courtyards, cheongsam, poetry. By capturing the richness of traditional Chinese culture, I not only express my feelings but also create a profound connection to my heritage, enriching my current experience while honoring my roots. This creative process allows me to integrate cherished memories into my present life, transforming nostalgia into a source of strength and inspiration for the future.
